What writing means to me? An AMED Writers’ Group open session (in-person)

April 5 @ 1:30 pm 4:30 pm BST

Your Invitation: Please join us for our inaugural AMED Writers’ Group (AWG) session of 2024.  (Our February session had to be postponed because of rail strikes). Here, we can share our writing challenges, achievements and interests in anticipation of our projects and enthusiasms for the year ahead.

Our process: To ring in the changes, in this session, we’ll experiment with a slightly different  format. Please come ready to share a favourite quote or other illustration from or about writing.

This would  resonate with how we are each feeling about our relationship with writing. It could be something that you or somebody else has written, said or otherwise created. If you can, please bring an artefact, reflection or a version printed on a sheet of A4 paper, so that we can display it on the wall or table.  Everyone will have a chance to introduce their offering, and we’ll see how the discussion develops from there. Towards the end of our time together on 5 April, we’ll look at how the rest of the 2024 AWG programme is shaping up.

This typically open and informal gathering is a wonderful opportunity to meet old and new friends who are interested in writing, reading, listening, conversations, diversity, solidarity and conviviality in any form.  Everyone is welcome, so please feel free to spread the word.

Cost£10, towards the cost of room and equipment hire.  To be collected in cash on the door.

RSVP: Please indicate your intentions by Friday 15 March (earlier if possible). I’ll send any final arrangements for our AWG meeting a day or so before we meet.

Meantime, very best wishes for your writing interests. Bob bob@amed.org.uk
