Journalling through the Labyrinth: an approach  for the 21st century?, another AMED Writers’ Group gathering, with John Sweet

February 17, 2023 @ 1:30 pm 4:00 pm GMT

Your invitation:  You are welcome to join us for another innovative – potentially hybrid – AMED Writers’ Group session, which John will facilitate.  If at all possible, we would like you to join us in person, although we are also making arrangements for some people to beam in via ZOOM.

John writes:  I should like to share my latest ideas about the Journalling process, inspired by the structure of a Labyrinth, and to give you an opportunity to try it out too!  I have been working on this for a number of years and a finished product to offer the Journalling public is getting closer.  I would very much appreciate your feedback, especially on what I call the ‘WriteListening’ process.  You will also have the opportunity to consider how this approach might resonate with your own particular context.

‘WriteListening’ comes in the form of coaching virtually, to enable participants to hold their own individual Journal session with audio prompts available to them on demand.  I will introduce a 20 – 30 minute writing exercise, then we can reflect on its merits.

What to bring:  If you are planning to attend in person at Roots and Shoots (which I hope you will 😊), please bring along if you can a smartphone, iPad or computer with an internet connection and headphones, or ear buds.  We will set up any Zoom participants in advance.  Either way, there will be some writing to do, but this can be done either with pencil and paper, or digitally.  If you cannot bring any tech, you are most welcome to look-on aghast or in wonder, and still write some interesting ruminations.

About John:  ‘It must be nearly 10 years since I was last at Roots and Shoots, leading a session on Progoff and Journalling. It will be very much a privilege and pleasure to be there again with the Writers’ Group on 17th February’.  johnfrsweet@gmail.com

How to reserve your placePlease reply to Bob @ bob@amed.org.uk by Monday 6 February (earlier if possible), indicating whether you’d prefer to join us in person or via Zoom.  In order to contribute towards the cost of venue hire, there will be a participation fee of £10 per person.  Once you have registered your interest, we’ll send you more details and joining instructions nearer the time.  Meantime, please don’t hesitate to contact John or Bob if you’d like any more information.

We’re looking forward to engaging with you on this creatively experimental session.

Best wishes.   Bob bob@amed.org.uk , AMED Writers’ Group Coordinator.
